Joy of Movement
In Zürich since 2015 – with Pilates since 1997.
I first came into contact with Pilates in 1997. At the time I was a dancer at Zürich Opera House and had to pause for three months because of a foot injury. I will never forget my first ballet class after that injury: my muscles were stronger, more supple and my movements more coordinated than ever before.
Pilates has held a prominent place in my life ever since. Everything I have learned since then across some thirty courses and training programmes – a diploma in Spiraldynamik®, Master Personal Trainer, pelvic floor training, back-health congresses with Prof. Stuart McGill – flows into every single lesson.
"Almost 40 years of intensive experience with the body have taught me one thing: the biggest change often begins in the smallest detail."
Christoph Klaus
That's why I look closely – at the position of a foot, the line of a shoulder, the rhythm of the breath. That is where the change begins that you feel in everyday life.
Small Groups, Deliberately Closed
Quality and personal attention are at the centre of my studio. That's why the groups are deliberately small and closed.
I know every person, their physical background, their circumstances and goals. That lets me guide each person individually and focus where it really matters.
The focus is on the connection between body and mind, anatomically precise movement, and training that strengthens the body sustainably, balances out imbalances and keeps you mobile – as a foundation for everyday life as much as for sports such as swimming, running, golf or strength training.
The only thing I take seriously is the execution. Otherwise there's a lot of laughter in my classes, and to me that matters – people who feel at ease move more freely.
How to Get Started
Three steps to your first lesson. No annual contract, no automatic renewal.
1. You get in touch
A short note on what's on your mind and when you have time – via the form, by phone or by email. It's usually quickly clear whether a group or a private lesson suits you better.
2. Your first lesson
In a group: you join a lesson already in progress and find out whether Pilates suits you. You might not keep up with everything the first time – but because there are at most seven of us, I can still look out for you. This lesson runs as a regular single-entry visit at CHF 42.
As a duet, trio or personal training: we find a suitable time together. Since it's a private lesson anyway, I combine the introduction and the training in one.
3. You decide
If you like it and take out a subscription, this first lesson is credited against it – so you don't pay for it twice. If you decide against it, it simply stays a single-entry visit of CHF 42.
After the group lesson we discuss whether an additional introductory lesson makes sense – for duet, trio and personal training it's already included in the first lesson. Subscriptions are used up, not just sat out.
QualiCert Certification
Many supplementary insurance plans contribute to the course fees.
Classes are QualiCert-certified. QualiCert is responsible in Switzerland for certifying fitness centres and instructors of health-promoting exercise courses.
Many supplementary insurers contribute towards course fees for this. Which insurers these are and how much they pay changes regularly – which is why we deliberately don't list names or amounts here.
How to proceed: before signing up, ask your supplementary insurer about their contribution for QualiCert-certified exercise courses. Once you've taken out a subscription, I'll give you a confirmation to submit.
The amount reimbursed depends on your insurance plan and is set by the insurer.
